Visitor's Reception Building
Industrial Park Hoechst, Frankfurt/M. Germany

Due to the upgrading of logistics and car traffic, the reception of visitors to the "Industriepark Hoechst" had to be reorganized. A new pavilion made of steel and glass was erected at gate no. K 801, located to the south of the 4 km² large production site near Frankfurt. Nearly 160 m² were enough to house a spacious reception area including a counter and a back-office with restrooms.

The choice of the form and materials for the building was made in respect to the technologically advanced production facilities of the site. Besides the functional requirements, lightness, transparency and a "signage quality" were the guide lines of the planning.

Already visible from afar, a tensile membrane with a 24 m high mast covers an area of 540 m² in front of the visitor's entrance. In "Industriepark Hoechst", more than 20,000 people work in chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

Realized in cooperation with architect M.Puerthner.
